There are plenty of activities to choose from right on your doorstep. Over the years, our guests have enjoyed shopping in the glamorous Edinburgh, exploring the rugged Highlands and hiking, driving along the picturesue coastline and popping in to the sleepy fishing villages, taking a helicopter trip to get a unique perspective of the landscape and visiting some of the country's oldest whisky distilliries.
Scotland has over 130 malt and grain distilleries, making it home the greatest concentration of whisky production in the world. The majority of distilleries welcome visits by members of the public. It is sometimes necessary to make arrangements in advance, but many distilleries have extensive visitor facilities and do not require prior warning of a visit. A short trip from the Estate are Lindores Abbey and Edradour Whisky Distillieries while Eden Mill Gin is conveniently located in the historic town of St Andrews.
A choice of over 100 golf courses are to be found within an hour's drive of Kinross House, including the championship courses of Gleneagles, St Andrews and Kingsbarns.
We are fortunate to be located in an enchanting area of central Scotland, a world away from the hustle and bustle of normal life, but only 40 minutes away from the capital city of Scotland. Whats more Edinburgh airport can be reached in about 30 minutes. The historic seaside town of St. Andrews is only some 45 minutes away and Glasgow is about 60 minutes away. Given our proximity to our main airports, the estate offers an ideal location for those not wanting to spend too much time travelling during their visit to Scotland.
For those looking to explore a litte further afield, Glencoe and the stunning Scottish Highlands are only a few hours drive from the Estate and certainly worth the trip.
